Buddhi tomár krpáy sabe labhe
Katabár dhará pare ásá jáoyá kare gechi
Buddhir parimápe sab kichu dekhiyáchi
Nijer ajiṋatá pade pade bujhiyáchi
Bujhechi tumi sár bhave
Cokhe mukhe ácarańe ajiṋatá d́heke gechi

তোমাকে বুদ্ধিবলে বলো কে বা পাবে
বুদ্ধি তোমার কৃপায় সবে লভে
কতবার ধরা ‘পরে আসা-যাওয়া করে’ গেছি
বুদ্ধির পরিমাপে সব কিছু দেখিয়াছি
নিজের অজ্ঞতা পদে পদে বুঝিয়াছি
মুঝেছি তুমি সার ভবে
চোখে মুখে আচরণে অজ্ঞতা ঢেকে’ গেছি
ঢাকিবার গ্লানিভারে অধোগামী হইয়াছি
সম্বিৎ পাইয়াছি এটাই বুঝিয়াছি
অহেতুকী কৃপা এল নেবে’
Translation
Do say, will anyone attain You by intellect's ability?
Everyone gets intellect only by Your mercy.
Many times I have paid a visit to this Earth;
Everything I have viewed with intellect's assessment.
At each step what I've known is my own ignorance...
I've understood that You're the essence of existence.
In my eyes and face, in my conduct, ignorance I have hid;
Neath the vile yoke of that veil, I've become degraded.
Now I've received awakening, and I've fathomed only this:
Grace unmerited, it descended.
